![]() system is nothing special, so I wouldn't comment anything on that. There are some characters that are genuinely good, but a vast majority feels very one-dimensional. That being said, I really like the introduction to this world, as it is very riddled with injustice, corruption and just filth. The premise of the story is interesting, but not that unique. It is a great revenge story with a very satisfying flow. I won't say that it is very distinct to other mangas in this sub-genre, but I really do believe that it might be one of the best, even though there are still a few glaring flaws. Genuinely amazing art with a very captivating story. If you don't want to read the novel & want your story & character development to take place within the comic (as it should and did in the beginning stages), then I DO NOT RECOMMEND the comic. Therefore, I would ONLY RECOMMEND this comic FOR those that don't mind reading the novel in tandem to fill in whatever gaps that may occur in the comic, or FOR those that don't mind the lack of story & character development and only care about action. Now this could be attributed to poor pacing (which it is), but I hear that the novel does not have a "time skip" at this point and instead explains the events as they were "last left off". some people (like myself) may consider crucial. They skip some character & story development which It was never really a bother until some events that happen in chapter 27. However, I felt that more time could be taken to develop all of the new characters (clans) that show up. It has a few instances in the story where it takes a few leaps in it's story to progress the plot. The main problem with this series is it's "shoddy" adaptation from the novel. It takes it's time to develop it's story & characters (slow start) but still manages to keep things engaging. I never got sick of her character. This story has great art and a smart main character. Nope, our heroine is fierce, badass, funny, and cute all at the same time. I am so, so, so x 100,000 glad that the heroine wasn't some crybaby, stereotypical shoujo girl. The artwork really reminds me of Horimiya and Kamisama Hajimemashita. OKAY, let's be real here, the art that's displayed here on MAL isn't that attractive. SA also has its share of comical, touching, and WTF! scenes. And although there were some cheesy bits, I was surprised at the more meaningful parts. The manga isn't as shallow as it seems - it actually goes deep into the purpose of humans and the concept of death. And to an extent, it IS that, but it's also something much more than that. To be honest, I was expecting SA to be some quirky shoujo about a grim reaper falling in love with a human. I am satisfied with how the manga turned out. Every chapter did a good job at developing the plot, building up tension, and leading to the end. Now, normally I'd be crying and complaining about how I wished the mangaka drew more chapters, but I think 7 chapters is enough for this story. All I wanted was a quick, light-hearted read. I decided to read this manga because I knew that it was short, and I wasn't ready to emotionally prepared to invest in something a manga that had 20+ chapters.
